HEY, I’M FLO NAEGELI.
I make music.
Originally hailing from the Bavarian forests of southeastern Germany, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Flo Naegeli began his musical journey as a Bavarian folk accordionist at the tender age of just seven. Growing up in a household where music was played for joy rather than formal training, his early influences were rooted in traditional sounds. A bicycle accident in which he broke both forearms marked a pivotal shift – leading him from accordion to electric guitar and opening the door to a wider world of musical expression.
By the age of 14, Flo was absorbed in the music of icons such as Prince and Jimi Hendrix, practising for hours each day and honing a distinctive style. Despite initial resistance from his parents, he pursued formal music studies, earning a degree and the confidence to embark on a professional career. A later move to eastern Germany deepened his connection to the country’s history and gave him space to evolve from band member to solo artist, learning production tools like Logic to realise his own creative vision.
That solo path wasn’t without challenges. Flo speaks openly about overcoming self-doubt, anxiety, and the effects of growing up in a family affected by mental illness — particularly his father’s late bipolar diagnosis. These experiences, alongside the transformative journey of becoming a father himself, underpin the heartfelt songwriting on his upcoming Lush Life EP, released via Sonar Kollektiv in March 2026.
Flo’s warm, soulful vocals and assured arrangements blend electric guitar, piano, bass, synths, and layered percussion into a sound that touches soul, folk, and indie, without being bound by any single genre. His songwriting balances tenderness and strength, optimism and honesty — embracing life’s challenges while honourledging the difficulty of overcoming them.
With Lush Life, Flo Naegeli offers a deeply human statement: an invitation to lean into vulnerability, honour personal history, and find quiet strength in the spaces between.
